STEM Systems and Curriculum Coach
Job Title: STEM Systems and Curriculum Coach
Location: System-wide with a K-8th grade focus.
Position Overview:
The K-12 Systems and Curriculum Coach is a leadership role within the Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools who is dedicated to ensuring alignment, rigor and effective implementation of curriculum across all grade levels with a K-8th grade focus. This position services as a bridge between instructional best practices, curriculum development, and professional development to ensure that all teachers have the necessary tools and resources to support students at all learning levels. Additionally this individual will support instructional technology needs throughout the system.
Responsibilities for this position:
- Design, teach, implement, and continuously improve STEM curriculum for K-8 students across multiple buildings, ensuring alignment with state standards, district goals, and current best practices.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to align curriculum across grade levels, ensuring rigor and consistency in instructional practices across all buildings.
- Design and facilitate professional development sessions that support UDL, curriculum implementation, differentiated instruction and best practices all learners.
- Support teachers in integrating curriculum seamlessly into their classrooms, providing strategies to meet the needs of talented and gifted students.
- Vet digital resources for quality and alignment with curriculum, and monitor their usage to ensure that paid resources are effectively used.
- Assist building leadership and content educators in exploring and reviewing new curriculum.
- Lead professional learning in various curricular areas, including both traditional content instruction and digital resource integration.
- Support instructional technology initiatives, ensuring teachers and administrators effectively use digital tools to enhance student learning.
- Analyze system-wide student achievement date with the leadership team to identify areas of need and inform decision-making.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required or Preferred:
- Master's degree required.

Essential Functions:
1. Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active and engaged learning. Plans and materials must be in accordance with established Diocesan and Iowa standards.
2. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. Provide a variety of materials and resources for use in educational and classroom activities; prepare classroom as needed for related activities.
